How sad. My grand daughters kindly discarded some in a bag and gave it to me today rather than deal with it themselves....

So very good of you...I have two bags of Lindt balls which I intend to love and cherish. They take pride of place - top shelf of the pantry where no-one else can see them

Best to keep chocolate out of site. Best treated like a red headed step child...I never bring it to the dinner table. Speaking of dinner, I'm constantly thinking of dinner. Even when I'm eating dinner. I must be a dinner addict.

Well then you've surely come to the right place. Seems all our jolly fellow foodies here are suffering the same plight I know I am...

Well the coast seems to be clear. Time to raid the fridge while no one is watching and start planning dinner around the rib roast for tonight. Good night to all the sleepy heads.

Nomad my DD will be wanting to hop a plane in the morning when I tell her your reply. She wants to one day work in Animal Kingdom as she hopes to be a vet. The vet part could change as she gets older but I don't think she will ever out grow wanting to be at Disney. We don't care much for Orlando but once on Disney grounds we are in heaven the whole time.

Went light seeing then stopped at some friend's house for a visit so we didn't get home until late. By the time we put stuff away, got a snack, brushed teeth and into jammies our local paper's Friday edition was online. So I have read it and now headed to bed.

So nice to hear everybody had an enjoyable holiday all around mostly. I have already been requested to make some scalloped potatoes with ham diced up in them. Might be tomorrow's supper don't know just yet.

Here is a foodie question for ya all because I have no clue to the answer.

Oldest was given a canned ham, he has never eaten canned ham as I always get a whole bone in ham from our butcher. He asked me how is it made as it is the same shape as the can it was in and what is the best way to cook one. I gave him my directions on how I cook my ham but I don't know since a canned ham is already cooked it might not work. Told him I knew some people (doesn't that sound like I have connections to the mob?) that could help us with some answers and get back to him. He said he sliced off a piece when he opened it but it tasted like Spam to him. LOL Did I shelter my children too much by home grown veggies and fresh butchered meats????

Night all pleasant dreams!

I'm wide awake, so I diced all the veggies and put up chicken soup, using the chicken I had defrosted. I am the only one in the house tonight, so I don't have to worry about the soup's aroma waking anybody. This will save me from having to do it later, when I may/may not want to cook. Tonight's dinner will be chicken noodle soup and chicken & rice. The soup tastes better "the next day" anyway, so it will work out well.

I have to wonder though... What kind of foodie disease do I have that I am thinking about dinner at 03:40?

Sorry Jax, I can't help you re the canned ham.

Got to go grocery shopping.. I was thinking of either grilled chicken on a bed of rice or homemade spaghetti and meat sauce... can't decide.

No help here on the canned ham, sorry.

Morning all

Jaxson-take the canned ham, score top, brown sugar, pineapple and bake. They are usually "parts" of ham compresed-therefore the similarity to spam. Haven't had one in over 40 yrs.
