When it comes to cookies, do you prefer to buy the pre-made dough and bake it yourself, or just buy the cookies?

I prefer to bake cookies from scratch.

If I'm going to heat up the oven to bake cookies, I'll spend the extra 15 minutes it takes to whip up a batch of oatmeal raisin dough. I find the pre-made dough to be overly sweet for my taste.

I mostly eat gluten-free, and fresh baked GF cookies taste much better than ones from a box.

I only bake from scratch. If I'm going to eat sweets I want really good ingredients and no preservatives.

Some of the dough I make might even make it to the oven.

I've tried some of the pre-made dough: I agree, too sweet and just not like dough you make from scratch.

It depends what kind of cookies - chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar, sand tarts, and oatmeal scotchies MUST be made from scratch at my house. Same with brownies. The only store bought cookies I can't do without are peanut butter patties and chocolate covered thin mints (WalMart Great Value brand).
