I just saw/heard of a new fruit. Sort of looks like a oblong cranberry about the same size. You put it in your mouth chew it up for about 30 seconds, but don't swallow it. Spit out the seeds (that's what's left). Then you can eat/drink anything sour such as a lemon ,lime, sour dill pickles grapefruit, vinegar etc...etc... and anything you eat will taste sweet.
Just one berry caused $2.50...but you can buy the plant and it will bear fruit.

Either this is a new fad.... or I've missed something along the way...

just thought i would ask around (????????????) and who better to ask

Miracle berries!

ThinkGeek :: Miracle Berry Fruit Tablets

Yes, they are expensive. I wanted to get a bunch and have a party. They supposedly make everything taste sweet.

Yep, it is a fruit and the tablets are all natural.
However I do not like this statement: MiracleFruitHealth.com and Miracle Frooties cannot guarantee your safety and you are purchasing and using miracle fruit at your own risk.

Here is a nice list of suggestions for food items that have proven especially interesting
Miracle Fruit Berry, Synsepalum Dulcificum, Miracle Fruit benefits Chemotherapy and Diabeties

I just don't know why would I want everything to taste sweet...???

agreed if I want sweet I will eat something sweet. Strange to eat a grapefruit or other sour item and have it taste sweet?

Plus that statement above about not being able to guarantee safety is scary.

Just as an interesting experience. Everything tastes different, including the sweet stuff. It just seems like it would be fun to try.

I suspect the safety statement is because alcohol will taste like soda, and some people do dumb things like drink themselves sick.
