This is my favorite fall/winter drink. I buy a jug of apple cider, apples, oranges, cinnamon sticks, cloves, a couple of star anise pods. I halve the fruit break up the cinn sticks. Then I put all of it in the crock pot w/ a dollop of butter. Then I wait for that glorious aroma and when the fruit is getting soft, WA LA! I take out my favorite mug add some rum or brandy or not, then I get my favorite blanket, light my collection of aromatic candles and put on my favorite music!
Glogg, which I discovered in our local Market District Giant Eagle grocery store last year in the International section. It's a Scandinavian drink that tastes very similar to apple cider with many more spices. Warms you up pretty well!
I also love hot chocolate, homemade with milk, unsweetened cocoa, sugar and a touch of vanilla. Add some whipped cream and chocolate chips and it's like a dessert
LOL ~~ I prefer it warm if I'm outside around the ole bonfire & use a cinnamon stick as a stir stick. YUM..............
