Hi , Can you please help us,

We are looking to Move to Florida from The UK, what are the best areas of Florida to live in ?

We are looking for Low crime, Lots to do for children, and also a busy place not the quite country life, we are not bothered about the heat as we love the Sun, but also good for families so we can have a nice way of living and Bbq etc.

We are looking for a good school, we have 1 little girl 2.5 years old a we do plan to have more,

Having Looked at several sites, i have seen good things about Tampa Bay ? Also Orlando ?

Does anyone have any other ideas ? Or can you add to this ?

Also we are looking to start our own business in order to Get a Green Card, again any advise on this would be great,

Thanks In Advance

John

Tampa, Orlando are your best bets... They have lots to do but are busy with people.

If you want a little less people, Jacksonville is another Option.

Sarasota county has very good schools. It also has Pine View which is the top school in Florida and one of the best schools in the Nation. There's lot of things for the kids to do in Sarasota, very kid friendly town.

You might want to get in contact with mr&mrssunshine over in the Sarasota section. They currently live in the UK and are in the process of moving over here and getting their green card.

Good luck with it!

Hi, Moving to Florida was the best move we made. We are originally from near Manchester and moved across here 6years ago. We had to invest in a business to get out E2 visa to be able to migrate here. We know alot of people that have had to go back to the Uk because of the economy and the business suffering. Luckily we are still here. We have a restaurant inside of an office building. Make sure the business you get is in a great location and be something you have done before and are good at.
I know a great guy who deals with visas if you would like his info. There are alot of people out there who will tell you wrong info. If they tell you that you cant leave the country on the E2 you get, find another guy to help you. On the E2 you should be able to travel on it.
As for places to live, depends what you would like to be near. Now is a great time to buy over here. You can get condos for $10k which is about 6thousand pounds. Its crazy!!! I have helped alot of brits move across here. Its hard and stressful, especially if you dont know anybody.
If you have any questions let me know
