I thinking of moving to Hudson, have lived in SE PA my entire life. Home prices seem very reasonable. Does anyone have any info on area, Beacon Woods, Country Club acres?

Beacon Woods is a golf comm. Some are new home some are older. Prices start at 175000 - 400000. Depending what you want. Country Club is very old run down area. Alot of rentals. The prices are from 100000-175000. Beacon Woods would be better if you ask me. You will get more for your money. It depends on what you want to spend.

Thanks kimwick, Country Club seems to be more my price range right now, but dont want a "bad" area, is crime bad or they dont take care of the homes? I guess what do you mean by run down area?

They are alittle run down. I don't know about crime. I have lived in Hudson all my life and the crime is not bad. Don't get me wrong you do have it but you don't have to worry. Country Club Estates just has alot of rentals so the renters don't take care of things as much as a homeowner would. You can find homes in Beacon Woods for around the same price. I would highly suggest Beacon Woods if you plan on reselling in the future.

Beacon Woods is so pretty! My uncle lives not far from that community.
The grass is always cut nicely, the homes are well taken care of. It looks like a very safe place also.

What about sinkholes in this area? Should I be concerned about buying?

You do have to be careful. My hubby's uncle's house had a huge sinkhole.
He had to move out. He was right around the corner from Beacon woods.
In the Woodlands, I believe. He now has a home off Little Road. I just would be careful in that area.

Ahh, sinkholes. We're all leary. I just recently read in the newspaper that the worst zip code for sinkhole claims is 34668. That's pretty much all of Port Richey, including some nice areas. Remember that when you buy a home the seller has to submit a Disclosure which will let you know if there have been any sinkhole problems (among other things) on their property OR on adjacent properties. Also a home inspector is a great help in finding unseen problems.I've lived in 4 homes in different areas of FL over 18 yrs and have never had a sinkhole. I think that some people are claiming sinkholes when they really don't have them, collecting the money, and then remodeling their homes.
