I know people in Btown some are liberal but the are the young. It's a snowbird Mecca and they own the west coast and now Daytona. I thought there should be a law that if you do not live in Fl at least 9 months, can't cast any votes... But Bradenton to me is small minded. Orlando ??? We are one!

I've heard it referred to as "Bradentucky," and I cannot disagree...

Oy. Lease is up in November--I'm out.

I've met many kind, lovely people both in Bradenton and on AMI. However...socially, politically, and in terms of gainful employment--it's not my place. Live and learn.

IMPEACH TRUMP!

I hear California is a nice place for liberals who don't like humidity and bugs and veterans and churches and guns and American flags on every house. Take some with you if possible.

Florida hasn't had a Democrat governor since before Y2K, it's trending GOP from now on.

Spare us. Scott won by a whopping 1% in an off year election. If Florida's governorship was voted on during presidential elections we wouldn't have a Republican governor.

Not that it matters to me. The GOP is becoming more liberal. The old school evangelical, human rights abusing faction of the party has almost faded into obscurity.

Exactly...even Texas is on the verge of going Blue.

Do taxes matter to you? Political party dominance goes in cycles and both Florida and Texas are now Red; i.e., Republican.

When the wheel turns to blue and they become Democratic, expect the Democratic legislatures to attempt a state income tax - Texas more likely than Florida given the large number of tax-hating seniors.

Not much you can do about it, one way or the other.

He also spent about $75 Million of his own money (probably the stolen funds from his Medicare fraud ) to win that 1% !

Yup. And Crist was a really weak candidate. I felt like Scott did run an effective add campaign against him. Dozens of instances where Crist flip flopped on issues made it look like he would say anything for a vote.
