I remember when I was 6 years old meeting Governor elect Bob Graham on the campaign trail my mother was a teacher and he came to her school and as I shook his hand he asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, well as a kid I really did not know, so I said Governor of Florida well I did work in the Capital in Tallahassee during college for awhile in the Governors office under the late Lawton Chiles and saw all the wonderful politics in action, but the position has great authority what whould you change about Florida if you could anything? nothing? Lets hear it..

I would reform the property tax system to reflect the price you PAID for your property, not what it's supposed to be worth.

Default Insurance

I'd tell the insurance companies that they can't do business in Florida for auto or health or anything else if they won't do business for homeowner insurance - and I'd regulate what they can charge.

But First - I'd get together with the governors of the other states to get them to agree to similar policies concerning insurance companies. Either the insurance companies would become reasonable , honest and responsible, or be put out of business in the United States.

I have a feeling Louisiana and the other Gulf coast states would sign up with a governor of Florida who would do that - in a heartbeat

Insurance companies are nothing but gigantic corporate bookies . ...welching on their bets.

also, i'd beef up police forces, fire any/all corrupted cops, and get all of those drug runners and criminals out of florida once and for all, and i'd even try to put florida on the list of the top ten SAFEST states in the nation.

I would look at the needs of the state, take an educated action on the topics that are limiting the communities and go forward from there.

Difficult call, because you won't be able to please everyone and someone will loose regarless of action. Very touch and go situation, but I will ask the people to place the priorities and work them first.
