I am looking to move to the Winter Haven area and am looking for a place to live that is affordable. Right now my son is the only one working and he will be transferring to the Walmart in Winter Haven on March 1st. I plan to work once we move, possibly for Uber, Lyft, or another work from home job since I am disabled but I don't get a check. I have another son who is autistic who wants to find a job also. Right now we can only afford about $600 on my son's salary. We also have two small emotional support dogs under 10lbs each. Since I have mobility issues I also need a bottom floor apartment or house.

I would appreciate any help that anyone could give me. As of right now, we will probably have to stay in a hotel for a bit until we can find something, but I would prefer it if we didn't have to do that for very long.

Hello;

Okay, first of all, I suggest you do Lyft if you're going to go that route. Lots of reasons for this, but read up on the two and you'll likely see many who agree with me.

Second, $600 will be tough, but here are a few I found while browsing:

Homes.com
Homes.com
Homes.com

Good luck.

We live in Winter Haven, and all 3 of the apartment complexes mentioned above are very nice and are all pretty close to either Wal-Mart in town.

I don't think you'll truly be able to find anything for $600 though. We couldn't when we first moved here several years ago. The lowest priced rentals tend to be studio apartments that are very small. Or some senior apts, or maybe an older rundown house. Plus, there's pet rent, too for each pet.

There aren't any extended stay hotels here that I know of, either.

This is my first post on City-Data, and I joined just to answer your questions about Winter Haven.
But, to be honest and practical - $600 maximum for an apartment monthly rental is unrealistic.

Unfortunately emotional support dogs are not considered service animals under the ADA so you may have to pay pet fees at your hotel. You might look for a pet friendly hotel that does not charge for pets. I think you can find pet friendly hotels on tripadvisor and you may be able to see their pet fees as well.
