I am thoroughly disgusted with how backward, conservative and gun obsessed the state of Florida truly is. Coming from Connecticut, this state is very, very backward and full of uneducated rednecks, it's not even funny. The state's education system is a huge let down, is severely underfunded and among the worst in the nation. And 20% of Floridians have no access to healthcare whatsoever. Teacher pay is a joke. Lack of environmental action is a joke. I'm voting for Andrew Gillum all the way.

This is the baffling thing. The people there I've met hate 'liberals' (the people who work to help them). I assume they are unconscious and are just looking for someone to hate, but you would think they would wake up at some point and say, gee, maybe I shouldn't direct all this hate towards caring, decent people.

As I can understand your question, Southeast Florida will be the best option for you. There are other progressive areas in Florida but Its very peaceful place. You will definitely like this.

What do you think is the 2nd most liberal metro area in FL? I'm guessing Orlando/OC.

I'm from Connecticut too. My brother just got back from a 10 month stay in the east Tampa area with friends. He's been to the state a few times, mostly to the Keys. I havnt been yet. We didn't really get into the politics he saw there though.

Try Ebro, FL in the Panhandle.

Just kidding. The Panhandle is dominated by descendants of Confederate soldiers - a red part of the state (with some exceptions - the liberal Sinema in AZ is actually from the Panhandle).

Here is the GIS map by county for the blue parts of the state. As someone noted, the southeastern part of FL tends to be blue.

You can go to each County's election results to find the areas that voted for Democrat candidates. Generally speaking, Southest Florida is most Liberal. Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County's. Then, around major universities in Gainesville, and Talahassee are Two other areas. Look up Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's district boundary's.
