There is not study out there that actually says this is a good program. (unless you a Socialist)

Yes, that means the 53 % od Americans that are exempted will have to pony up to the bar and pay there fair share. Frankly I and most people of the 47% pay taxes are tired of carrying the 53 %(that do not pay)
I feel it coming.
Those who are disable and or our Seniors should be taken care since with a solid Medicare program. its time the young take the future instead of depending on Grandpa providing @60years or more.

Flat tax, its possible and do able.

Plus a booming productive that results in a booming Economy. Yes we must mention this to you fellows on the Democratic , Liberal and Republican Conservative "what to be' (McCain)

A balance budget amendment! The Horror of it all! We must have Term limits and curtail this notion of "Political Correctness"

We must have serious measures for serious times. Our future depends on it!
1-Flat tax is unfair. Why should the Working Class man/women pay the same percentage as Mitt Romney, or Donald Duck, oh, I mean Trump.

because it's fair?

If someone earns 20x what someone else earns, they should pay 20x the taxes. Seems very fair to me.

The problem is that people like Mitt and Warren Buffett get a lot of their income from stocks and dividends which are NOT taxed at higher ordinary income rates that working people typically pay.

A flat tax should truly be a flat tax. Keep everything the same and don't give breaks and special treatments to anyone.

Why should sucessful people have to pay 35-40% tax on income while much of the country pays very little or not taxes at all. Yes, yes, people who have investments will only pay around 15%, but that money was already taxed at a much higher rate for corporate profits.

Putting in a flat tax and getting rid of loop holes is a possible way to go. Make wealthy people pay tHe taxes on a private jet but also allow them to pay a fair share. As in not much more higher percentage than most.

What you are missing is wealthy citizens pay almost 50-60 % of state tax and Federal Income tax. what Mitt Romney gets is a Return of his Investment, that has been taxed @ 50/60 percent already. Plus he pays tax on his Investment return.

Florida is tax friendly State. what if you lived in the North East , Like NY. NY City even has a tax for the city, plus a tax on all sales transactions of 1 Million Dollars. Clever Sneaks they are!

Would have the wealthy taxed 90%. what if the tables were turned and You Mr. John Q Public wins the Lottery tonight. Would you give 100% of your winnings back to the Gov.

Probably not!

The other item that folks do not consider is I the rich guy or gal spend money on new boats, cars, homes and every day stuff. Its all good. A sale has been made. Money has changed hands and sales tax has been collected.

Still I am resentful of the 53% that has dodged paying taxes. Even if you are poor you do have a minimum obligation to contribute.

Think About it? Please! There is no such thing as a Free Lunch!

Sarcasms doe not do you well. All of this is up for debate. But you do have a small point in which I will concede.

Perhaps a slightly higher flat tax for those Evil rich Guys and Dolls. But you get the drift.

The Bigger Macro Picture is Tax reform and the end of Obama Care. The Mob can not even cook the books enough to make it look like it actually works.

Income taxes are just wrong. Why punish workers and entrepreneurs who add value? I say let government shrink to a manageable size and earn its keep. I would support high tariffs on imported goods and a 50% tax on derivatives, and other speculative sales like house flipping. I would also eliminate ad valorem taxes on homesteaded properties and let the state survive on sales taxes. Sucking money out of foreign speculators is more popular than sucking it out of our residents. Flat tax is an income tax so I say, it falls flat.

Solid Point! Anther post showed the end result of Nafta. Not good and as far as I can determine none gain in Florida Industry. ROI is simply not there.

You touched on this point. There is nothing wrong in upping tariffs. We protect our remaining industry and promote new opportunity to Grow Florida and this country.

I have the perfect example of Florida Industry that has went South.(Pardon the Pun)
As Posted Daytona and Century Wire Feed Welders were sold, distributed and manufacture in Daytona Beach Florida.

Holy Carburetors and Fuel systems manufactured in Daytona. Of course the inventors of the pressurized Carbs that was standard equipment in Mustangs and Spitfires during WWII. Thank God for Nascar to keep the Tech .going.
Cardinal Homes in Sanford Florida.

FMC Industries in Orlando. (Greatly reduced)

Building products for new homes.(coming back slowly) GAF in Tampa

I think you all get what I am moving too! Does any know has there been a review on NAFTA?

Apparently it, in fact, is illegal. Rick Scott will have a hard time with tea party backing. How can anyone say boo about their Second Amendment or any other constitutional rights, when policies that Rick Scott campaigned on in 2010 have been declared as illegally stripping people of their Fourth Amendment rights? This is going to be a very interesting race.

Scott is a flat out criminal and Florida elected him. He was CEO of the biggest medicare fraud company to date (Columbia/HCA) and Florida STILL elected him. If you think it was/is he that is making this place better, OPEN YOUR EYES. It's a shame we as amaricans can't find better people to put in office…and that goes for all offices, not just Govenor. Crist or Scott??? are you kidding me?? It's sad. The best we can find is Obama for President? Although it's not all his fault, our government is a joke. The republician party included!! We need a COMPLETE overhaul!! No criminals, no elected druggies, no elected officials that have several foreclosures and can't handle their own finances. Maybe these types don't exist anymore.
