There aren't any "Pre-Pharmacy" programs per se just as there really isn't "Pre-Medicine" programs, just a set of prerequisites that can be fulfilled at any accredited university. Pharmacy programs are quite competitive and I would look for the best undergraduate school possible (which is very likely outside FL) in order to make yourself as competitive as possible in the selection process. UF is a great school but would recommend applying at other Southeast schools like the Medical University of South Carolina, U of Alabama-Birmingham, Emory University or U of Tennessee which have excellent Biological Sciences departments and strong reputation points with the Pharm Schools. Don't be afraid of going out-of-state or to a private university as tuition can be as cheap as staying in Florida, it all comes down to the financial aid awards packages. Private universities have what are called endowments which are basically cash reserves that are used for many things including financial aid awards for students who need the assistance. I have known many a student who has attended schools like Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgetown and others at the same tuition cost had they stayed locally and gone to the random state school. Don't be afraid to apply to a few if you're a good student (3.8 or better and good test scores), you might be quite surprised. Good luck!
