"OH MY GOD Y'ALL CAN'T DRIVE, IT'S GOING TO SNOOOOWWWWW!!!!!"

Mind you the snow hadn't started.

M sister paid no heed, went to the market. It looked like the apocalypse. The bread, milk, cold cuts. Gone. The shelves were bare. Stripped. Like Soviet Bloc bare. Nothing. Nada. She returned home and the little teensy weensy flurries had just started. The type that northerners don't even consider snow. The type that come out of no where on a clear blue day.

She still laughs about that day. It was surreal.
My stepmother had to go to NC for work many years ago. They were pridicting, and got, less than 1" of snow. She said people were freaking out. No one was on the roads, stores were almost bare, etc., the person who she was dealing with while there on business couldn't beleive she was going out driving somewhere. She thought it was funny, but of she realized she thought nothing of it cuz we are from the Northeast.

Never spent any time in Syracuse. Buffalo was more than I needed.

We had a business associate who lost her son in Weston in 2004 or 2005 because after the storm he walked barefoot in the deep water in a street with a live wire in it. He was only a teenager. It was so sad...
