Jobs are pretty slim to say the least. The ones that are available generally are lacking in quality (poor pay, lack of benefits)

Jobs are few and far between. Tyndall AFB is one of the major employers in the area. They are ending a major aircraft maintenance contract October 1st. About 300 people will be out of a job. Economy hit the area hard. Lots of boarded up commercial property and lots of homes for sale.

Now the other end of the pan handle is booming. The Fort Walton & Destin area are doing great. Several major defense contractors brought good quality jobs to the area.

What kind of job(s) are you looking for? What are you qualified to do?

If you have no special skills, and no college education, stay home and save yourself a lot of trouble and frustration. If you're going to Panama City to find a "general labor" I'd strongly advise you to stay where you are, if you can.
