Our homeowner insurance we have optional sinkhole loss coverage so they sent us a letter stating that we have to add catastrophic ground collapse coverage. They said the optional sinkhole loss is for cracks inside the house now we also need to add catastrophic ground collapse coverage (collapse of ground outside) We live in Homestead and we don't get sinkholes.
Who do you use for your homeowner insurance. We are trying to shop around renewal is getting closer. FL insurance is a rip off.

Cool One Of My Big Fears

One of my big fears is the price of home owners insurance in Florida.... and now that we have found an area that we like I have begun the long task of finding a company that issues policies without ripping you off....

I found these sites that might help www.florida-homeinsurance.com www.homeinsurancefl.com www.home-insurance-deals.com www.floir.com since I do not have a place yet I cannot get a set price only a range......but they might work for you...

I'm a little surprised they are now expecting a Homestead resident to get sinkhole coverage, which seems like a scam in my opinion.

NC there is another thread on sinkholes, I think some members said they have dropped the sinkhole coverage and just got the catastrophic coverage.
