We are four single men, late twenties early 30s, looking to stay in Florida Keys in late September.

We are anxious not to book the wrong location as some areas seem to be too quiet, and we want to ensure a decent nightlife.

Are we right in thinking that Key West is the best bet?

There are so many places to stay in key west that you should be able to find something without a problem...but no matter what you decide make sure you stay as close to Duval St as you can...it is the main drag and everything happens there...if you fly into the key west airport you do not even have to rent a car unless you are looking to go sight seeing...they do rent scooters and you can pick them up for a day or more...my wife and I are looking to stay at the holiday inn on Duval for new years eve...but there are plenty of other places to choose...try this sites www.kayak.com or www.tripadvisor.com www.gotokeywest.com but remember....spend more to stay on Duval or as close as possible...it is worth the money and you can walk everywhere....

Key West is the best place in the Keys if you are looking for night life. The rest of the keys will not have what you are looking for. Stay as close to Duval Street as you can, so you can stumble back to your hotel easily.

Keep in mind that time of year is peak hurricane season. But hurricane parties can be fun as long as the weather doesn't become too serious.

I was going to say the same thing about the Hurricanes. Key West would be the best place for the four of you. My h & I have been going there 3-4 times a year for 20+ yrs. & love it. KW can be as expensive or inexpensive as you like. A must bar for Blues on weekends is the Green Parrot.
Flying at that time of yr. make sure you take out the trip Insurance, just in case of a Hurricane. Have fun!

Four single men in that age bracket will have a blast in Key West! Never been in September, but we have been there in June, July, and August--plenty to keep us entertained. We stayed at the Key Lime Inn before, which is within short walking distance to Duval but quieter than staying on Duval. Hope you have a great time...I'm sure that you will!
