How secure are you feeling in your job under the Rick Scott administration?

Not very!

And do a search of House Bill 303 that was just drawn up by Representative Fred Costello. If that goes through, everything you were promised when you started working for the state will be gone.

Sorry if I ruined your Saturday.

If Scott has his way, the only state employees will be the administrators in Tallahassee. I think he plans to desimate the Department of Corrections and make the prisons private. But, history has shown, privitization is tantamount to piritization of tax payers' dollars, that is, privatized state facilities/programs cost tax payers more and only benefit the contractors, often friends of the governors/legilators who approve the practice. My husband and I retired from the state and are SOOOOO happy we got out. We thought Jeb Bush was bad! I think Scott is going to show state employees just how bad it can be. Good Luck!

If I were a state employee I would be very nervous with Scott as Governor.

I am not a state employee, but I am enrolled as a graduate student in a public state university. I am very worried; in that my school keeps saying that classes will be offered 'depending upon state funding'. What in the world? I can understand cutting back on offering free cable to the dorm residents, but CLASSES?

When I enrolled in 2009, I opted to only take on a part-time load so that I could continue to work. Well the annual tuition hike is a bit more than I expected; but woe be me if my program takes even longer because I can't get the classes I need in a timely fashion. 2012 (when I finish) can't get here soon enough!

Not feeling very secure at all, since my job has gone bye-bye and realistically I am too old to replace it. I'm getting unemployment and trying to find out if I can take FRS pension as early retirement at the same time. It's very difficult to get a response from the AWI unemployment people. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the sunshine and free time.
