There is nothing in the world like sitting in a bar right on the beach watching a storm come across the ocean.

I own a couple rentals there so I want Florida to come back strong.

Mild winters
Water everywhere
Lots of exotic wildlife
Palm trees
Fresh produce
Beautiful girls...never figured out why Florida has so many
Fishing
Boating
Oceans
Bahamas are close if you want to get out of country
Florida Keys are one cool drive
Key West
Fantasy West....if you don't mind some perversion
Lots of great sports teams
Affordable homes right now

  • Lots of pro sports teams to watch
In Florida, tickets for major league baseball (Rays and Marlins) and NFL football (Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Dolphins) games are more plentiful and less expensive than MLB and NFL games for teams in the Northeast (i.e. Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Phillies, Patriots, Giants, Jets, Eagles, etc). Plus, in March you can watch baseball spring training and late December/early January features several college football bowl games from which to chose.

I like the easy access to the casinos!

Here in San Diego it's ridiculous! All the casinos out here are in the mountains out east of the city. Not only is it a ridiculously long drive, but it's all uphill on a long grade that puts a ton of wear on your car! This is my main deterrent to going to the casinos out here. In Miami it's easy. Just drive east on SW8th to the Seminole Gaming Center or go to the casino in Hollywood, and then theres always the Seminole Hard rock on State Road 7 in FTL.

Oh yeah, and I nearly forgot -- easy access to the nude beach!! No stupid goat-trails on dangerous 800 foot cliffs(NOT AN EXAGGERATION!!) that you have to climb UP(!!!!!!!!) again, when you're exhausted after being out all day in the sun! What are you gonna do? Hike up those dios maldito cliffs everytime you have to use the bathroom? What are people supposed to do? Hmmm... I wonder.... Was that a fish that just swam past me? Miami is civilized enough to provide bathrooms nearby. Access is so simple that I can go there - get my hour or so of sun, splash around a bit and then be on my way! Now if they could only perfect the art of engineering grass that grows out to and into the ocean! --So we don't have to get sand in our pants and socks!!

Mild winters? Have you been to FL this winter? Cold, cold, cold! We had to scrape ice off of our car windshield today in Orlando. Miserable!

We've had to scrape our windshields, too. The horror!

Look in the bright side.
You don't have to dig sit in a plane on the tarmac for 11 hours.
Or try to save a parking space in south Boston.

It's supposed to be in the high 60's today, and 70's tomorrow.
