Last January here in Orlando I waited all morning to see all the snow we were supposed to get and I didn't see a solitary flake yet the weathermen were excited doing cartwheels and backflips on stage in anticipation of our "snowstorm". Not that its a bad thing not getting any snow but people make it seem like we have a Mid Atlantic type climate when we do not. Pretty soon we'll advertise downhill skiing here in Florida.
The Southerners do that in Knoxville, too. They go on and on about how they get so much snow, when the truth is they get about 3 inches a year. No one ever has to shovel anything, either. A couple of years ago, we got 2 inches in one day. My daughter's school was closed for a week.

Right now, it is snowing, which is extremely rare for December. It's really coming down. Not Cleveland or Boston snow, but enough for here. We will probably end up with 3 inches, when all is said and done, which is major. I wonder how long the schools will close for...

Ok, no snow last week, but this week is supposed to be colder than last and although we won't see snow, So. Fla is expecting a possible hard freeze which is highly unusual. Per the Weather channel National and Local Weather Forecast, Hurricane, Radar and Report we are under wind chill and freeze watches expected to upgrade to warnings.

I'm excited, after 34yrs of heat it's so nice to get these breaks although I am surprised by just how cold it has been getting. Btw, about snow in Fla, we did get some significant amts on January 19, 1977. I know cause it was my birthday although I was too young to remember anything.

If it's this cold this early in Dec, I'm seriously wondering what Jan and Feb are gonna bring us?!
