Big hobby gardener here. Considering the move to Williams. OUtside of the water problem (which is BIG, I know)-why do I not see anyone gardening there? Is it the weather (I will take my greenhouse with me). Is it the water problem? Is it the soil? Is it the varmits? Why are there no gardens? I did visit the local nursery - they said the seasons were too unpredictable.

Any comments? Open to all suggestions.

while i do not live in Williams , i do know the town . i live about 20 miles away . since you will be bringing your greenhouse will be a tremedous help for you . biggest obstacle might be the soil . then again you have plenty horses around and their manure is easily obtainable . water and varmints will not be a problem with a greenhouse .
i am n process of selling my house and moving .
if i was not moving , i would be knocking on your door and begging for a home grown tomato .

In looking for a house to purchase, we did not see a single garden. We are thinking that container gardening (to get that ripe tomato) might be a way to start. We plan to compost (as we have for the past 30 years in PA and IA) so hope we could develop some good soil. Water would be the most likely limitation.

Williams is beautiful, love it. I'm not a gardener, have tried but it's not a big priority. I just can't fathom great success in Williams, but good luck. Good pie at Pine Country Cafe.
