My family and I might be moving to flagstaff in the next few months. I have been looking at homes for sale there and surrounding areas to get an idea for what the housing market is like over there. I keep fonding A LOT of homes for sale that look nice at a decent price in Munds Park/Pinewood?What's the catch? If there is one? I realize its about 20 miles away is that the reason or something else I'm not aware of? Thank you for any input.

Pinewood is considered a very nice spot to Arizonans....yes, it's about 20 miles south of Flag and has very few consumer services right there - no big store or any of that....

check if your decent price is for a trailer or manufactured home....you may see the term "stick-built" home, as we sometimes call them, and that is a traditionally-built place....

check lot size, square-footage, age, beds and baths number, etc., for other reasons why it seems "too good to be true"....Pinewood is not usually a bargain in the Flag area

Thank you for answering. I have been careful about checking the stats on the homes in pinewood/munds park and some are running a bit small but still seem like a good deal by the standards of that area. So basically it just may be a matter of the distance ? Is it a problem to get to flagstaff come winter? Thanks again for help : ) I have a 2 year old so really want to make sure if we move we can find a nice and semi-affordable ( by those standards)house.

Pinewood is oriented towards retirees and summer-homers from Phoenix. I'm not sure where the nearest schools and kid services are. Your 2 year old will be a kindergartener in 3 years, then what?

There is nice hiking all over this general area--of course, that's not the only reason in choosing where to live (albeit it's a big one, at least for me).
