I have to come to Arkansas from California for about one year. I will be in a place called Fayetteville. Will you please tell me what it will be like. I am middle-class, working class.

It is a nice small college town. You should enjoy your time there, but the traffic will be hell on Saturdays during football season.

You may get a better response if you asked a mod to move this question to the general Arkansas forum.

I said it before that this forum name causes confusion. How about renaming it to something less convoluted? e.g. The Greater Little Rock area. I started a thread about this and there was agreement but nothing was done by the mod at the time. This is not for my benefit. It is only a recommendation to avoid confusion.

Fayetteville is in the NW corner of AR and as mentioned is a small, somewhat liberal college town, like most college towns. There are lots of things to do, with football ruling from the end of Aug until Thanksgiving. (hopefully longer) There are other areas close to Fayettevill worth considering as well: If you wants the atmosphere for you, it is a great little town, well it isn't really all that little, depending on where in Ca you live now. If you want a slightly different cultural experience you may want to check out some of the surrounding areas.

Welcome, we are here to help and I hope you love your year here. Believe me, there are others from Ca living in the area.

Nita

Welcome. We're a liberal University town with all four seasons and lots to do and see. Traffic is insane, and there seems to be non stop construction. But there's fresh air, little crime, and friendly people. Fayetteville itself is around 60,000 the area is about 300,000 in population. Google Fayetteville and you'll find the changer site and city sites.

This place called California. I tried to drive there from a place called Oklahoma. I got lost in a place called South Dakota. Why is California so hard to find without a map? I am an educator.
