Do you know any women under 40 that do NOT wear open toed shoes? Am I crazy for not wearing them? (pedicure, pulling)

I only wish I lived somewhere that I could wear open toed shoes/flip flops year round. As it is I push it til late Oct early Nov here in the North East.
I must say though there are places like New Orleans French Quarter I would never ever expose my tootsies
Can't speak for everyone, but I am 52 and went to one of those secretarial schools in the 1970's, where you were taught not just office skills but proper dress and behavior. Open-toed shoes were at that time considered inappropriate for office wear. So was wearing skirts or dresses without pantyhose (and in school, if you had a run in your stockings you were sent across the street to buy new ones.)
I am a leetle bit older and went to a junior college to study to be a medical secretary - I showed up for class in overalls and flip flops - the (***** of a ) teacher asked me if I thought I was dressed appropriately for work - I asked her if "work" was where you got paid - she said yes - I said - since I am PAYING to go to school - I will dress as I please - when someone else is paying me - I will dress as THEY please.
I half wonder if its just because they are cheap shoes and being younger usually means spending less on clothing. There were a bunch of flip flop sales or freebies going on too. I don't wear them because of the city setting. I did not when I was young either. Pool/beach areas only. I feel like they dry out my feet too. I always get those bamboo ones though so I am sure thats why.
I have never worn shoes with an open toe except maybe when I was a child who wore sandals. I never have had anyone question that even though I have lived in hot climates for the past 11 years.
I never even thought about it prior to reading this thread LOL.
I'm 30, female, and never wear sandals or flip flops. All of my friends wear sandals in the summer but I don't really care to show off my toes even though there's not really anything wrong with my feet. I also don't care to get my feet dirty. I bought a pair of flip flops once to wear out and was a little bit grossed out by the dirt they attracted. I just prefer to wear canvas shoes or gym shoes with no show socks when wearing casual clothes. Am I crazy?
There is no law that says you have to wear sandals. We get to choose how we dress; it is a free country.
I also cannot imagine why you would seek consensus or approval about this. Do what you like.
I am a woman who lives in SW Florida. I rarely wear closed shoes and I never find my feet get dirty unless I'm walking in the dirt. I have a thing about feet and if you have especially ugly feet and/or toes stick to the closed shoes.
I'm forty and basically only wear open toed shoes, weather permitting, except in the case of exercising, or at a workplace where they are disallowed.
I can't imagine this preference or its opposite, never wearing open toe shoes, being a big deal.
