I think one of the biggest issues stopping many women from dressing in that style is the amount of time it takes to get it right.
I go out every once in a while dressed to the nines in my lovely vintage dresses and it takes me upwards of 2 hours to get everything in place. Makeup, hair, undergarments etc. take a loooong time to get right. For one of my dresses I have 7 pieces of under garments that I have to put on and adjust! I guess if you were a housewife you could spend a bit of extra time primping, but as it is I work 50+ hours a week and only dress up once or twice a month.
American women never looked sexier than in the 40's. The clothes, the hair, the make up -all of it.
From the white gloves to the red 'come and get me' lips, the to stockings with the seams up the back. Classy stuff. (And HAWT!)
I'd love to see it all come back.
I love 40's fashion, probably my favourite era. Wish it would come back
Anyway do you think womens fashions which is called the New Look will return? I believe the fashion sense then appeared to have more emphasis on glamour than on any other fashion period in the 20th century. What do you think?
Yes..I have a lot of skirts and dresses that are 40ish and 50ish I wear...I love those eras..Mostly the 40s..

I have many pictures of my Mom, and aunties from this time period and the clothes were beautiful. My Mom showed me some pieces she had kept (I think maybe her going away outfit from when she and my Dad were married) in 1953, and the dress is a very pretty silk pattern. As others have said these days price is not always a good indicator of quality. People did not have as many clothes, but what they had was very well made and also not cheap. Quality vs quantity. As for the era, bring it back. Timeless, classic clothing.

The shape of the dresses, the way they formed on the woman's body and showed off her natural curves made them look sexy as well. And the high heeled shoes they wore made them look sexy too, the way they walked in them and made the clanking sounds like they were confident.
The swingy skirts, cinched blazers, cat eye sunglasses, & kitten heels are back. I like the 50s looks that are more elegant too. Too many think 50s = pinup girl look, which has been done to death.
