Okay, I am a little nevous about this since some people can be very cruel for no reason, just because they can, but not all people are like that. So, I am going to ask anyway and just hope the trolls stay away. After viewing my attached pics, please leave replys of any recommendations or advice regarding makeup products. I am shopping around for the basic foundation essentials. I need a foundation, concealer, mineral powder, and primer to cover acne and acne scarring. I would like a product that would give me a flawless look, something I haven't had since puberty. I also need advice on which application brushes to purchase and why. The only brush I have is a kabuki brush. My skin care regimen consists of several philosophy products. I like the lightweight, nongreasy feel. Anything with an oily texture, I can't handle. I use "help me" at night, and "on a clear day" in the morning for day use. I use the exfoliating scrub as a cleanser, and "the great divide" as a facial every now and then. I use clinique lifting cream for my eyes. When I do put on makeup, I use Maybelline full-n-soft for my eyelashes. I probably won't deviate from that unless someone gives me a good reason why I should. I use a bit of everday minerals for coverage, but my scars are still noticeable. I don't know how to deviate between products to add layers. For those people who are pros at that skill, please fill me in, I am clueless. So, some basic info on my features. I am blonde and blue eyed. The pics are of my bare face. Thanks to anyone who can help me. I plan to research and read reviews on any products mentioned to me at makeup alley. Okay, I think I'm ready, hopefully this is not too painful. lol...

My suggestion is Bare Minerals using a Heavenly brush for your foundation. You skin looks really good. Since you have blue eyes, maybe Mary Kay's Spun Silk, Hazelnut, and Chocolate Kiss mineral eye colors with a bronze eyeliner; Strawberry cream blush, and Poppy lip balm. I'm not a MK rep, but their new book has colors by eye color and it looks very good. Also, you can try the colors out before you buy.

Have you considered a procedure called microdermabrasion? I know you wanted make-up advice, but since my college-aged daughter is going through the same process right now trying to conceal her acne scarring, I thought I'd mention it. She just underwent the first of three treatments. Basically, they use a machine of some sort to kind of "sand" or slough away the old skin cells/scarring, and new skin then regrows. Your scarring isn't too bad, and might be reduced by such a procedure. It's expensive though, each treatment is costing us $125.00, she needs three, and it's not covered by insurance. The treatments are done in a dermatologist's office.

Revlon makes a great water based foundation called New Complexion. It's not greasy or oily and goes on very smoothly and evenly. It's also great for skin coverups of imperfections. After that, a nice powder will help cover up any problems left noticible. Along with your mascara, you might want to consider using an eyeliner. It will bring attention to your eyes and away from the rest of your face. Good luck!

Wow! What is there to be cruel about? You have a beautiful face! The bone structure! I would love to have a face that attractive and structured!

What I would do is to take advantage of some make up sessions.
You do not need to buy! Just go check it out.

Sephora - Call and make an appointment - when I went here I did buy their Kohl Eyeliner cause I loved it!

Mary Kay - I did buy their cream the first time, I use Oil of Olay now.
I fell in love with their face powder and buy that regularly.

I went to Merle Normans - did not like it, did not buy.

For lipstick I like Revlons which I buy at the grocery store.

Do you have health insurance? Go to a dermatologist, I did just to ask for advice on my pores and actually what he ended up telling me is to use the Cover Girl water base makeup.

Everybody is going to recommend what works for them. Try to see what works for you. Take time to go to the dermatologist - if your insurance covers it.

You have a beautiful face, with or without make up I bet you look great.
Take the time to try things on and just dont try too many different brands all at once or your face might react to things!

Do not hesitate to ask for samples.

You can try a mineral concealer under a mineral foundation.
Honestly, your skin looks nice the way it is. But I agree with LovingSAT, you can always visit a Sephora store and ask one of the makeup people for suggestion. I did that, but make sure you tell them what you're looking for and try out different stuff before buying because they tend to try to sell their own products to you.

Or, do what I do and watch youtube makeup tutorial videos. There are lots of professional makeup artist online who do tutorials for all sorts of coloring, and they often recommend and review products too.

My favs.

Do read the above suggestions - all are good. Sure wish I had your cheekbones!! I have had great success with MAC products, but they aren't for all skin types. Check them out & have them do your make-up as a trial run.

Primers to try: Tarte's clean slate ( I felt this actually started to take away the scar I had on my cheek), e.l.f. has a new one out thats cheap, also monostat chafing gel. You may want to look into HD's green tinted primer to balance out the redness of the scars.

Finishing - With evian water mist or MAC's prep & prime (you can find recipes for homemade versions on youtube)

Brushes - You will need a concealer brush, small spot concealer brush, and for full coverage: a flat top kabuki .Another option would be to get a dual fiber fopic brush and apply your mineral foundation wet with a stiple application. You can layer that for a full coverage. The concealer brush for under your eyes is for buffing out the cream to give it an airbrush look. The small spot conceal brush would be for extra conceal cream on scars. Set those with powder. I think its best to do concealer after foundation when it comes to acne scars. You end up using a lot less and it looks better. A finishing brush as well! Depending on the method you use to apply your make-up can help you pick that. Dual fopics do a good job though.

You have such a beautiful structure to your face....I think you skin looks lovely as it is.

But check with a dermatologist about laser treatments, if you want. They are not cheap, but have advanced greatly since dermabrasion. Some do not even visibly peel the top layer of skin off (it's a very slow, gentle process).

Anyway, my doc gave me a foundation called Colorscience. It's only available in docs' offices or spas, I believe. It is very light and blends beautifully, feels like you have nothing on your skin. Eyeshadow, Larenim, or Gabriel Color - both are mineral & jojobo oil based and easy on delicare eyelid skin. I also use a Gabriel Color mascara.
