Various things can cause it. Allergies, caffeine drinking, dehydration, age, sun damage, genetics, excessive eye rubbing, eye fatigue from using a computer, smoking ,drinking....blah blah blah
Do any of those seem to be the issue?
There are tons of creams etc but you can just press chilled spoons to see if that helps at all.
Fridge cold..not freezer cold.
hello, i have half moon rings under my eyes no puffiness yet what can be done i am to so depressed.
Did they just appear recently? Or was it something you have been observing for a few years now? It depends whether you can do anything about it or not. If this is something that appeared as you aged, then it's unfortunately, permanent. When we age, our cheek pads (layer of fat under our skin) starts moving downward exposing our facial bone structure. Depending on your bone structure and the amount of fat on your face you may get different variations of the "aging" look or sagginess. As fat departs the upper portions of your face and starts moving towards the middle of your face your eye sockets also get more exposed and many people get the hollowed out look under their eyes, some get puffiness where some fat is still present in the eye socket area, because it gets "separated" from the cheek pad fat that moves towards the middle of your face.
If this is permanent aging process then nothing can be done to reverse it unless you are ready for the plastic surgery. There are certain types of eye surgery that can be done together with the mid face lift to eliminate the dark circles and hollowed out appearance. Other than that... the best trick is still makeup. Makeup can lighten up the dark circles and make you look better and more rested/youthful. Botox, and even injections of restylane or other fillers don't really do anything for undereye circles. Botox is good for wrinkles if you have that problem as well. Some dermatologists may suggest you to use fillers like restylane to puff up the hollowed out area, but the results can often be worse than before because you can get an uneven/wavy look. Fillers are better used on narrow folds of your face like smile lines around your mouth and nose.
In any case, whatever you want to do above and beyond makeup, you are looking at procedures that would cost you money. I would recommend consulting a dermatologist. Creams don't really work well, they only can improve the condition of the skin around your eye area by hydrating it more, it does have a positive effect, but won't bring the fat where it used to be. I wouldn't dump crazy sums of money on overly expensive creams that promise miracles, they don't deliver. Save the money instead to get a permanent procedure done in the future. A basic moisturizing "reviving" cream should do well. Make sure it's not too heavy and is easily spread around. Eye masks also work , anything really that makes your eye area well hydrated and plumped up, but not overly moisturized. Teabags work well for reduction of puffiness because tea contains caffeine that dehydrates.
I have the same thing as you do, and mine is permanent, it's just something that crawls up on you as you age. I am now 35 and the circles are there to stay. No matter how many hours I sleep.
I have little lines (sometimes a small 'bag') under my eyes literally 24/7. It never matters if I'm tired or not they are always present.
Is there any creme, medicine, or anything I can do at all? And any ideas as to what causes this?
thanks in advance - Jason
If your lines are wrinkles, then botox may be your answer, consult your dermatologist and see what recommendation you get. But if you are talking about certain lines that runs parallel to your eyelids and look more like folds as opposed to the wrinkles then botox may not be of any help. If this is too close to your eyeball, there isn't much that can be done with injections. If it's far enough and safe, your dermatologist may recommend a "filler", a gel that gets injected under your skin to smooth the folds out.
Don't waste you money on creams, go to the dermatologist and ask the specialist to explain this to you. Don't just ask what can be done, but try to understand why this happened, they can tell you better than anyone here because we can't see you and we are not all doctors here.
If you have never used an eye cream before (most men don't) maybe it's time to start. Although it probably will do nothing to help you with your folds or wrinkles it can help keep your skin more hydrated and elastic to avoid rapid aging. This is more of the prevention than cure for existing problem though.
