I have never had this happen before, but in the last 2 weeks, my fingers have been bubbling up with dead skin...especially at my knuckles and sides of my fingers around my nails. No soap changes, or new meds, or anything...I am diabetic but I have been forever...anyone have any idea why or what I can do about it? It looks awful!!

I'd go to a dermatologist! That's weird! Being diabetic, I wouldn't take a chance that it's due to something I touched! Go see a professional!!!

It IS really wierd. You know, I was talking to DH about it and we are wondering if it isnt a change in the water? Maybe more chlorine? We moved from baltimore to knoxville tn and the water here smells like bleach water all the time, it's strange. I am thinking it could very possibly be the problem! But I may go anyway

I was going to ask you if you were cleaning with bleach.
You can develop allergies to your everyday use type of stuff at anytime.
Is there a paticular product you use on your hands? (or comes in contact with it)

With the diabetes note I have to wonder if it is fungal.

Those orange cleaners always make me peel like that if I forget to wear gloves.

no products in particular...I would just about bet money that it's the chlorine

We are moving out of this (dump) wednesday anyway, so I'll make sure we put an inline filter in at the new house

Peeling skin is associated with diabetes. It's possible that even though you have been a diabetic for a longer period of time, it is finally affecting you in this area. There are creams your doctor or pharmacist can recommend.

It MAY be something else entirely....but I would be more prone to think it is diabetic related.

Good luck to you and I sure hope you are able to correct the problem soon.
