Yeah, that's what I thought to.......BUT, if the ruffles are on the wrong spot of the skirt (starting at the top seam), it makes me look so big and huge around the hip area. (I have wide "birth friendly" hips....LOL )
I do have a skirt with ruffles, which is made out of a very flowing fabric, and the ruffles are "smaller".
The skirt is straight and flat around the hip area, and the ruffles start at the upper thigh area.
Looks great, and I got a lot of compliments on it.
But, I am NOT getting into now, on HOW LONG it took me to find "THAT SKIRT"....huh.
Also, I do LOVE the look of those pirate blouses.....but haven't found the "right one" ...yet...

IMO, ruffles are not for everybody. I think they look good on slimmer women. And it should be on the right places, too.

The clothes in those pictures makes me think of: Madonna, Mormons (from the HBO show "Big Love"), and that old show Three's Company.

I think it's a passing trend... we'll just have to grin a bear it until the next thing comes along to giggle at.

No ruffles? I am SO pro-ruffles. I think people automatically assume ruffles are just for little girls. They are great for a flat chest. Check this out:

It all depends on where the ruffles are placed, but I also think that once you've reached 30 don't do ruffles.

Not a fan of ruffles but some women can do it - as long as it's not overdone. That looks bad on anyone IMO.

The first one is too frumpy. The second one looks nice.

I don't think there is an age cut off or everyone can wear then. Total composition must be taken into consideration. And if your ruffle it up. Nothing else loud or bright in your entire outfit/accessories.
