Welcome to city-data. Glad to see you here ringing in on such an important topic.

I like long t-shirts because I can tuck them into my shorts/pants and don't have to worry about my crack showing when I bend over.

I'm 6'4". I don't understand why they make t-shirts so short. And some of the x-larges are made for someone who is at least 100 lbs. heavier than me.

LOL, I'm only 5'4" and I still think the tees are too short - and that is buying them at Kohl's. Just bought 2 more from there that I thought were the exact same as what I had been wearing from years past, but they are a good 2" shorter. I want mine to hit around the bottom of my zipper when wearing fitted jeans, but I don't want to have to wear a tent to get them that long (don't want it too tight either, though).

Just guessing, the reason tee shirts are longer now is that pants sit lower than they used to. And that's a good thing given most men's paunch.

Remember the old guys whose pants were up around his armpits? You don't see that any more.

I love the long tees, I have a long torso and my cups runneth over.

These cropped tees and huge baggy pants is a return to an earlier fashion nightmare phase of my life.

My husband has better luck with extra-tall sizes. He found regular XL too baggy as well. Some stores sell them in-store, but often it's easier to get them online.

I don't find that t-shirts are any longer now than they've ever been. It varies from t-shirt to t-shirt, just like decades ago.

Since you're petite, you may have to buy a "P" petite size, which would be shorter. Although I doubt many casual shirts come in petite, I guess. They're too inexpensive to have varying sizes like that that may not be big sellers.
