Split Ends? (salon, hairdresser, light, women)

Has anyone watched the tv show, Split Ends where two hairdressers trade jobs and locations? If so, I have a question after just watching the show. One of the salons was in Philadelphia and the women that worked in the salon there wore their make-up as if it were still the 80's with dark lined lips with lighter lipstick or just dark liner with purplish lipstick, heavily lined and made up eyes and just all around tacky!! I felt like I was in a time warp and was surprised to see this in a big city!
