I've been looking for a leather pocketbook for a little while, and my mom wants to get me one. I can spend up to $100, but I have no idea where to start?
I currently use a Vera Bradley On the Go with the dimensions of 11 x 8.75 x 4.25". This has been perfect, so something similar would be great. Nothing "skinnier" than 4.25" - I have too many little bag type things that need the "floor space". These are the things I am looking for in a bag:
1. MUST be crossbody
2. At least the above dimensions
3. Not many, if any, buckles, studs, etc.
4. Something that looks good for a 20-something
Any suggestions of brands or specific bags are appreciated!!
Honestly, for $100 you should go to TJMaxx or Marshalls (if they are in your area) and see if you can find a leather bag to your liking there. I don't know many 'brands' in leather in the style you want for that price. I just bought a new bag for just under $400. Not that they all cost that but you'll be hard pressed to find too many 'brand' bags in leather for $100 or less unless you find one on markdown somewhere. Sorry.
For that price, maybe check the brand The Sak & it will probably have to be on sale. The brand Fossil currentlyi has 3 on sale. They've had leather for a long time now & not just the woven styles. The brand Fossil has just a few on sale.
These days though (& for the last several or so yrs), $100 just doesn't get much if you want real leather like I do too! And I've been getting crossbodies the last few or so yrs too & gotten away from the bigger bags.
I'd check these stores:

Nordstrom Rack - probably has to be on sale
Macy's - probably has to be on sale
maybe Ross

Fossil bags are great. If you goto their site, you can see which bags are on sale.
I saw a no name bag at Marshall's a few days ago that sounded almost exactly like what it seems you're looking for except it had a flap with a buckle on the front. Leather ala Frye style, $59.00.
