Funny that it's the fad to shave everywhere else but not the underarms. Times they do change, and I hope they change back (at least the underarm part).
Maybe this trend is coming back?

I guess it all depends on the image you're shooting for.

And if you don't care about image, then wear that slob flag proudly!
Lol. Exactly!

I've been waking up next to a hairy man for forty years and loving it Full beard, full head of hair even at his "advanced" age : ) As a matter of fact all of my brothers have beards and my son does too. Guess it runs in the family, however none of the women in the family have beards

Clearly social norms are the reason, but they’re norms and nothing more and norms change all the time. People should do what they want, ignore the opinions of others and stop looking to C-D for affirmation.
There's still a segment of society who unconsciously believe (sometimes even consciously believe) that women exist to be pleasing to men, and definitely not the converse.

Yep. It is “manly” for men to have back hair, a neck beard (or huge beard) and generally look like a yeti. If a woman dares not to shave every area of her body below the neck that grows there because SHE IS AN ADULT, she is thought to be unfeminine.

Both.

It is OK, and people will claim to be grossed out.

I think women care more about what other women think than what men think.
As a man having been married (now widowed) her personality and care of her self are more important than fashion.

While you enjoy waking up to that many women do not. I certainly wouldn't want my husband to have a beard. I complain when he doesn't shave because of how painful it is when he kisses me. He however doesn't kiss my armpits so he has no say in what's happening in them.
