I never see short little jackets in stores. Everything seems to be long these days. Most of my coats, jackets, and sweaters go down to at least mid thigh I'm 5'7, so it's not like these are clothes that are made to be shorter and just don't fit correctly.
Or maybe I'm just picturing something different then what you're talking about. Are you wanting everything to be at least knee length? When I hear "short little jacket" I picture a shrug or cropped jacket that was popular in the early 2000s.
No, I don't want knee length - I just don't want cropped jackets which look stupid on me.
Everyone I know who works in the fashion industry tells me that these are coming back in a big way and that all jackets and shirts for the new seasons are shorter. Ugh. I like some length. Not knee length, just not cropped or short.
Like many things, people should buy for the body they have, but often they do not.
Skinny jeans look nice, but only on 1% of people who wear them.
^^ Exactly! Just because it's in style right now doesn't mean you will look good in them. I've seen way too many gals wearing skinny jeans who shouldn't be.
Now from everything I have read a bootcut jean is the perfect jean for most women. I can't wait for them to come back in style. The only thing I like about the skinny jean is I can wear them with high heels or flats without a problem.
The skintight trend on women is surely not dead because of the huge popularity of LEGGINGS! Similar to skinny jeans, some can wear them effectively but others look terrible and almost obscene.
What I want to know is this - when will men's suits stop being made to look like last year's Easter suit on a preteen boy? BRING BACK CARY GRANT SUITS!!!!!!!!
Pee Wee Herman wore a suit like that for comic effect.
He and Heidi left it a while ago, but there is a show on Amazon Prime now Making the Cut that has them in it. I think the first season came out right after COVID-19 started, so I am guessing they might not be able to do a second season for while. Unlike PR, they traveled around to several different global fashion cities for the challenges.
Thanks RA! My daughter and I both have Amazon Prime so I'll let her know. Maybe we can record it and watch it across the country from each other and make comments like we used to With a bowl of ice cream, of course!
I don't think it is on anymore....if it is, I don't get it because I don't get cable.
He also used to say, look in the mirror before you go out....turn around....do you look good? Very common sense advice.....
Yes indeed! He was also kind when he gave a critique on what the designers were doing and his suggestions on how they could improve were helpful, not nasty.
Someone urging people to cut up their skinny jeans is not believable when they say, 'They're not for me, but to each his own'. lol. Who does the blogger think they're kidding
Gen Z may not be into them, but Gens Y and some Gen X-ers are still wearing them, so...whatever. At some point, the fashion cycle will change to something else, like wide-leg pants, which I'm seeing more of lately, but baggy jeans just look sloppy. There are other options for jeans, like straight leg, flares, etc.

EXACTAMUNDO.
That is the whole issue with skinny jeans. AND, the fact that they are horribly uncomfortable. I am not fat, but damn y'all, how can you stand all that skin tight denim? Yoga pants and what-not are fine - but skin-tight denim SUCKS. I gave up pantyhose years ago - for the same reason.

Most skinny jeans aren't made of typical jeans-weight denim. They're of softer cotton with stretch.
