I injured my ankle some yrs ago (Achilles tendon rupture), so I can't/don't wear high heel shoes anymore, sadly. However, I like to dress fancy from time to time, but it seems that the lower heel shoes are automatically NOT fancy. I've been looking online at Nordstrom, etc. & ordered these so far (below), which I can return if I don't like them, but anyone know of any EXTREMELY comfortable, super fancy, AND low heeled shoes?
I'm familiar with all the known comfort brands so I'm looking through them in the meantime (Born, Naturalizer, etc.)
There are some great embellished flats and mules now. Velvet, sequins, etc. it depends on how fancy. I am wearing black velvet pants and a cashmere sweater with these for a Christmas event. They are crazy comfy
OP back. Thanks so far, I'll check those out. Keep the suggestions coming! I'll continue looking for these weeks. I can't wear complete flats, which would be too flat for my flat feet. I have this sequined skirt & these pants that I plan to wear a few times in the very near future so I wanted some nice shoes to go with it:
Thanks! For those of us with foot problems, I find it best to shop for shoes separately, and get what looks nice in anticipation of events, etc. I have the world's worst feet, and have actually declined invitations because I couldn't find anything for footwear. I now have three pair of "nice" shoes in my closet, waiting to be used, and it gives me more confidence just knowing I won't be panic shopping or declining an invitation because I can't find proper footwear.

Hopefully you can grab them on clearance. My first day I wore them on an evening where I went to a few events. I was standing from about 6-midnight with very few breaks. There was a little rubbing on one part of the toe.* That went away and things were great, so they are my defacto fancy but comfy shoe. They are a,sk good for a decent amount of walking too. I’ve done half mile spurts with no issues.
*I have one problem spot on my big toe and this happens often. It is weirdly sensitive that even sock seams irritate it in boots. I always need to be mindful in the first few wears of a shoe.
I'm not sure if I'd call these "super fancy" but they certainly look super comfortable.https://www.masseys.com/product/life...goryId=c210101 The open toe makes them even more comfortable and they come in several colors and many sizes.
Masseys has shoes for everyone and every occasion. I am sure you can find what you need there.
What a great thread. I think those shoes in the first post are really lovely. Let us know how they feel.
I like all the suggestions here. I know a while ago I had seen a beautiful and dressy and relatively flat shoe but now I can't find it.
Marylee- that is excellent advice. My mom used to have an expression for when you see something that is just perfect (like for example a little black dress or a dressy outfit) but at the time you don't have any occasion to wear it-----she used to say "your closet needs it". I think of that often as I am not usually swift enough to follow that advice but it's so wise.
I guess it could be a problem if you keep accumulating to excess but that is not me.
I have done it a few times and it's been so fantastic to know that you have the right attire waiting to be worn.
try looking at footsmart dot com. They specialize in comfort brands. They have a lot of the type of shoes you want. I just looked on their website and they have a lot of styles:
I also find them to be sometimes rather expensive, so if I see a brand and style I like, I will google it and try to find the same thing locally.

I find anything by Eileen Fisher to be quite comfortable. I've had bunion surgery (years ago) and have very tender skin on my feet so comfort is important.
I have some Ugg sandals that are lined with fuzzy sheepskin that are sooo comfy-ebay find.
And Dansko or Sanita mules and clogs....never a sore foot, but look best with jeans.
