With January here, this is the month that retailers clearance out their Fall inventory to make way for Spring. So, I think it is worth talking about Spring fashion.
I buy a lot of Spring clothes in comparison to Fall, but my favorite Spring colors are lighter shades of pink, my favorite being Fairy Tale.
OK, I had a bruef look at some sites, and a color I’m seeing is a grayed light green, or a grayed sage. This continues a trend that I noticed last spring. Green is back. Not emerald or kelly green, but sagey or olive green, a bit grayed or in some cases lightened. I would buy green as indeed I did last year.
I also like the denim that is also available, as in denim dresses and shirts. I also see a lot of mid blue, which I also like.
I am not as interested in the light neutrals that I also saw.

I am always interested in a good white shirt.
I think of the color you are describing as lichen. The color of lichen on the trees outside my house is my favorite color.
I like sunflower yellow or traffic yellow in a spring raincoat. It’s so cheerful after the gray winter. I have a few cloth purses that color too.
I much prefer fall and winter colors but the color called "Ultra Violet" that is a plum purple looks okay as does a darker blue shade called "Sailor Blue".
The sort of burgundy color "Chili Oil" also isn't too bad--though it would be nicer if it had less brown in it and more red.

Ultra Violet is Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year, and IZOD is offering it on some Spring 2018 products.

you know, a famous playwright once wrote "green by any other name would look as green"
I wear some bright colors in spring for a little while then go back to more subdued/pastel colors.
