The year I bought mine DH and I noticed a men's 18K Rolex for $9,450. It became a running joke between us- if the stock market had a good run, DH would ask, "Can I get that Rolex now?" I knew if I bought it for him he'd never wear it- too worried about losing it, and bling was not DH's style.
To answer an earlier question, on my last overhaul I authorized up to $950 of work. Magically, they found $950 of work and added shipping, handling and insurance and taxes. The crystal gets scratched easily and that's a few hundred $$. Next time I'll work directly with Rolex (not through the local jewelry store) and require an itemized list of what they want to do and sig off only on what I consider important.
Does anyone know? On the back of my Rolex there is a green sticker like a 25% moon on the edge of the back cover . I have also seen then on pictures of Rolex's anybody know what this green sticker is for?

Care to share a pic? If it is an older Rolex, it could be that the sticker has worn down. If that is the case, the stickers on the back of the watch was to have a hologram and indicate the watch model number.
To the OP's original question, yes I like Rolex watches, but am not a woman.
I love my rolex watch. not because it always keeps great time (it doesn't), is beautiful (it is), or is easy to maintain...it ain't. It costs $750 every two years for maintenance and cleaning at our local rolex dealer.
as I wrote on this thread a year ago, I love this particular oyster perpetual date rolex watch because it reminds me of the person who gave it to me. I feel naked without it. I have worn it most of my life and will wear it every day until I die.
It shouldn't require maintenance every two years. If it does, you may want to send it directly to your closest RSC (Rolex Service Center). The closest to Austin is the Dallas RSC.

You can send it directly to Rolex Service Center (RSC) to service instead of a local jewelry store. If you decide to not use the RSC, you should find an independent CW21 watchmaker with a Rolex parts account. The can do a fine job with maintaining your Rolex and it will be lower priced than Rolex.
Rolex watches are a little overpriced.. but that's just my opinion..
