Are you ever puzzled when you see someone in open toed shoes that are too small? I saw a woman today with 3/4 of an inch of her toe hanging off her wedge heels. It looked so weird. And I would assume is uncomfortable.

I know that sometimes the strap stretches, and you slide forward. But nearly an inch? Have you seen this?

Not in street shoes. But you see this in ballroom dance shoes sometimes, in that situation it can be the norm (depending on the dance style)

I haven't seen that, but I have seen many women wearing sandals with their heels hanging off the back of their shoe! Same problem...wearing shoes that are too small. Why???

I don't wear wedge heels for this reason. My foot slips forward. If I were to wear wedge sandals, my toes would be really out there. This might have to do with being flat footed. At any rate, wedges are not my friend.

I imagine other women have the same problem.

The look I don't get, is the peep toe sandal on women with prominant big toes that end up poking out. Haven't seen many peep toed shoes lately. I don't care for that look in general.

I love the idea of peep toe shoes but I have a huge big toe and mini other toes. I did have a perfect peep toe that showed the right amount of toe. My toe was perfectly placed in he shoe. Then after a few months (or longer) they stretched too much and were no longer comfy, they rubbed on my toe. So of to goodwill they went.

I am also flat footed. I have found wedges that work but it is hard for sure. Maybe that is what it is and people want the shoe more than it looking great?

It is hard to find the perfect cut of toe so it doesn't look matronly or weird.

It can't be comfortable when the little piggy is hanging off the side of the cliff.

I have the opposite problem. I have to go down a half size and get a wider shoe for sandals, otherwise I have a huge piece of shoe showing in back and front. Sandals are very complicated.

Yes...I've seen it many times....I think they simply don't get the right sized shoes! It looks awful...not to mention, uncomfortable! Your toes should NOT hang off the end of your sandals!

When you wear wedge heels sometimes your foot slips forward when you are standing.

Yes, but the woman who inspired this post had her feet way over, it wasn't just the sliding that can happen.
