People, both men and women, have used their hairstyles to make statements about their political leanings, sexual orientation, religious preferences, ethnic backgrounds, career choices, etc for many many years.
I found this article very interesting. It is about "high and tight" haircut popular with some men today. I never thought much about any political statement it might be conveying. I just know I have never liked it. Some entertainers especially show up with it whether it looks good or not. Frankly I don't think it looks good on anybody. It is too severe, rigid and unattractive. Now I have even more reason not to like it.
