Stein Mart, Marshall's/TJ Maxx, other places like that are great because you can buy those brand name polos that were once 50-100 for 10-20 bucks. If you like light/thin polos, e.g. golf style, see if there's a PGA Tour Superstore in your city. They have a tremendous amount of golf polos and always have clearance racks in the back. Just don't bother yourself looking at the 100+ dollar shirts in the front, haha.

I buy a lot of shirts on eBay, if you know the brand and your size, it's pretty easy to find exactly what you're looking for in a tremendous range of colors and styles you won't find in the stores. Since I like Polo brand shirts, this is a good outlet for me. Much nicer to buy 10 10-dollar shirts off ebay than one new, 100-dollar shirt, you know? You can usually tell from the photos if it's been worn a handful of times or if it's been worn many times. I find that with nicer shirts, a lot of times people buy them but don't wear them very much so even in used condition, many are like new.

If you get a shirt now and then that's too worn or doesn't fit like it should, that's okay...you're getting them at a huge discount so just throw them away or give them away depending on what's wrong with them and move on. That's the advantage to value, volume shopping.

If Costco, Target, and the other suggestions don't work, wait for a Banana Republic sale. They seem to have these a lot. Their nice polos will be in the $30-35 range with a big sale. And they fit me better (not saying they'd fit your husband better than others).

I usually buy them at Kohl's. With the right combination of coupons, sales or even cash back from my CC, they come dirty cheap.
I usually buy mine from JCPenney or Macy's, and occasionally Belk (the latter online since there are no Belk stores in AZ). For some reason, Kohl's usually doesn't stock them in pink, not even online.

For JCPenney I usually use the frequent $10 off $25 coupons (adding on something cheap such as a T-shirt or socks to meet the requirement), while at Macy's I usually buy two and use a $15 off $40 mail-in coupon.

If you're willing to paw through the stuff, you can get good deals. It's basically the stuff that didn't sell at the clearance rack at wherever it came from so the next step is Ross or what not. Occasionally something just doesn't get picked up or they just simply made way too much of something so it skips straight there, but you've got to wade through the stuff that's there for a reason. The stores are usually completely disorganized. Basically if you like shopping, they're great. If you detest shopping, they're awful. In defense of them, last time I went to Macy's to buy a few dress shirts when I ended up staying longer on a business trip than I'd packed for, it looked like a Ross. Clothes all over the floor, nothing organized, 90% of it was weird sizes. If you had a 19" neck and 32" arms or a 15" neck and 37" arms you were good.

Amazon is very underrated for clothes. You have to search like you are at TJ Maxx, but there are very good deals you can find. Uniqlo is good and cheap. Ralph Lauren has many sales where you can get $90 polos for <$30.

We don't have a Stein Mart or Marshall's here, but we do have TJ Maxx and Ross Dress for Less. I have gotten good deals for both my husband and myself at those stores, but the stores are side-by-side and are kind of out of the way of where I ever go, so I never think about checking them out. I'll have to give them a try.

I have actually never ordered clothes from Amazon. Not a bad idea!

Costco has good ones. Sam's Clubs has good ones. Kohl's has some good ones as well. Stores like Burlington, Marshall's, Ross and T.J. Maxx will have good ones too. I tend to stick to performance/golf style polos myself.
