I think I am correcting my initial thoughts on the pictures. The first set ... ya the looks were a bit more rought around the edges. The second set obviously much more well put together, but if you consider if the intent of going to the event was to have fun if I had to pick the group of people that look like they were really having a good time... I would 100% want to be hanging with the people in the first set of pictures, but they actually look like they are having a good time at this event.
Regarding the girl wearing the long red dress and the flip flops... now that I think about this in all fairness it is pretty likely she did not start the day off in flip flops and if you go to wedding where I am from, but the end of the evening very often all the women have left their heels and are wearing formal wear and dancing with flip flops on. I think if these ladies where out with their freinds to having a ripping good time and they did ... good for them :P! The group of women in the 2nd link looks like they would be painfully boring to hang out with lol.
Regarding the lady with the peach/ pale pink dress in the first pic in the first set if she was wearing those shoes all day, walking around and smoking without fall flat on her face oh my god she deserves a medal. These are not easy shoes to walk in and they will get easily destroyed if you do. The strach marks can't be fixed on this colour shoe.
It's horse racing. It's trashy by nature, so cigarettes, beer, and bad dresses with too much makeup are what you should expect. It's not fashion.
