As I have posted in other threads, I use CeraVe AM moisturizer in the day and the CeraVe PM at night. I also began using their eye cream, which works well, and their foaming cleanser at night. I think these are great products. I buy them at Walgreens. Their ingredients include ceramides and hyaluronic acid.
I have problems with eczema, but with the CeraVe I never have problems with this on my face. I believe the products keep my face protected by keeping it hydrated.
I actually adore a Lancôme face cream that costs $170 a jar. With my underemployment I cant afford it but the Boots at $22 at Target is a middle class version of it.
I am over 40 and fair skin btw. I was less fussy (except for sunscreen) when I was young.
I'm just past 40 too, I find that my biggest problems are drier skin (especially in winter, that's pretty much a chronic problem) plus unpredictable hormone-caused breakouts. I use Aveeno now, and it's great. It's a thick formula that seems to penetrate well and last longer than the more watery formulas of many other brands. Aveeno works for me.
Also, I use makeup that moisturizes whenever possible. I was quite reluctant to start using anything formulated for older skin, it was just a reluctance to admit I was growing older I guess... but once I started trying out the products for older skin, I saw the huge difference. Glad I switched to moisturizing products... so glad!
Employed me = La Mer. Underemployed me = anything from Whole Foods (Everyone brand at $9.99 works and smells fine).
