Years ago had a convo with my co-workers about red on women, mainly lipstick but could apply to red in general. He maintained males were attracted to red (reddish, red tones) because that color mimics the female hoohoo (he didn't say hoohoo). Lipstick specifically because those lips....well you get the picture.
Red is my favorite color also. I am Spanish, and it suits me. I always get mega compliments when I wear red, so it gives me even MORE incentive to do so!
thing red clothes or shoes is completely different from say lipstick.. its the mouth type that suits certain colours, personally I hate reds or bright lips.. too overpowering , but I do like red cardigans or a top... never a dress or coat though... , although I like them on others...I much prefer a deep cherry or wine for a coat... oh wine thats so old fashioned now isnt it... the colour wine.....a bit like torquoise... and coffee colour which is referred to as taupe now... or near enough taupe..
I own exactly one piece that is solid red, a sort of deep crimson blouse. I really like it, but I think that has more to do with the style of the blouse than the color itself. Otherwise, red is extremely sparse in my wardrobe and typically found in small quantities in prints. I don't feel that it suits me and personally I think it's one of those colors that easily looks garish and can quickly toe the line into looking like a costume. That said, I would still like to find the perfect shade of red lipstick, but I still haven't found it yet.
