If you look at the original photo compared to the 2nd photo of the dress as worn at the wedding, it's clear that there is a very big difference in the colors between the photos.

Ok, so go grab some of your folding money, a twenty dollar bill or higher. Look at the numbers in the lower right hand corner. What color are they? Now tilt the bill a little bit... are they a different color now? So what is the actual color? I think this is what's going on with the dress too, all in how the light hits it...
