That might be true for female celebrities, but how (except for Most Beautiful magazines/specials) would overrating male celebrities benefit the media?
Duh. The same way. You've never seen sexy gorgeous men used in ads, the same way women are?
Companies use beauty to 'sell' -- whether an actor or actress whose name we know -- or a model whose name we don't, beautiful people sell products.
CD, home of rude posters. Yeah, sure, there are great-looking men used to sell products - and rarely have I seen the overrated male celebrities used to pitch products. The inflation of their looks remains unexplained.
The whole idea of entertainment celebrities is that they're supposed to embody being attractive/cool/stylish, traits we all desire so that we spend money soaking up their movies/shows/music etc. This only works so long as we buy into the idea that the celebrity in question is in fact all of these things.
I think both of them are simply average, just glammed up since they are celebs. Mila Kunis I never understand as being gorgeous. I find her face very "pig" faced to be honest. And Bradley Cooper, although I think is attractive, is just your average guy with a fairly large nose. They just are able to wear the best clothing, have stylists, etc.
When you don't see someone up close and you don't see how they live and what they look like everyday (and you see them always looking perfect and photoshopped), you start to think they're amazing. But if you were to meet one of these people and get to know them, I'm sure the awe would fade incredibly fast. There are some celebs that I also don't understand the hype about. For example, when Gwyneth Paltrow was voted most beautiful woman on the planet…I was like "there are better looking girls in the supermarket."

I wonder if Mila Kunis has a thyroid problem, her eyes are unusually large and are starting to bulge.
When Bradley Cooper first came on the scene he was just average, but he has really polished up. His eyes are stunning.
I still think Angelina Jolie is a natural beauty, I love looking at pictures of her, even candid she never looks bad.
Jennifer Lawrence has a really glam face, almost like old Hollywood. She just looks average without the makeup though.
The media (this sector of it) owes their lively hood to this. They have to produce the "celebrity of the month", and keep this fresh in order to keep their target market satisfied. In order to do this, the media will prop up various people and see what sticks, some do, some do not. Example of one that does is that Kim K. woman, she has been a success for the media, and the media will play her out as they did with Paris Hilton, who has already faded.
On a side note: I always thought it was funny how some of these celeb worshipers would go "look how pretty she is" and "look how well she is dressed", yet make no effort at all taking care of themselves to look nice; it is like they have the "them and us" mind set and put these celebs on a pedestal in which they have determined they will never reach nor try to.

Her eyes are large as are many Ukrainians/Slavic people. She also I think had an eye condition or something, but do not know if this resulted in any physical symptoms.

See now I think Angelina is atrocious looking and Jennifer Lawrence is less than average looking, not pretty at all.
