Which one is trendier ? I see a lot of people wearing white gold nowadays , but I'd say yellow has it's own charm too .
I'd like to hear everyones thoughts on it

I've never seen gold I didn't like! I love rose gold too.

They are coming out with lots of settings that combine yellow and white gold. I like these because all my jewelry will match all the time. More bang for the buck sort of.

Guess I saw to much of the yellow gold years past. Personally I prefer the white gold. The rose gold is pretty too. Still, the white is my favorite.

I'm a platinum gal myself. lol. I think that the trend on gold is 18K. And the choice of white or gold to me has several factors. The first and most important factor is what works best for your skin tone. I think that white gold compliments more modern look to the jewelry imo. Yellow gold is more traditional. Then if diamonds are involved. If the diamond is very white, the white gold or platinum is a better setting. But if the diamond is off color and more yellow in tone, yellow gold will by contrast make the diamond appear to be a better color (whiter).

When my middle sister got married, she wanted platinum settings because of my mom's jewelry. Her New Zealand husband was unhappy because yellow gold looked like gold to him him and described the platinum setting as looking like cheap aluminum. My sister got her wish though.

I tend towards white gold, especially on bracelets because I will mix in sterling and platinum ones on the same wrist. There are some great jewelry designers that only work in sterling. And there is a lot of sterling jewelry set with real diamonds now. Honestly, most people can't tell the difference, I know most guys can't. I remember wearing a bunch of sterling bracelets once, and a guy asked me if they were aluminum. He was thinking that other metals were heavier and would have been too heavy for me to wear that many of.

I say white; I find it easier to match with other jewelry.

White gold. I haven't worn my yellow golds since the 80's and I was just cleaning out my jewelry armoire making a pile of it to sell on ebay.

White gold. Haven't worn yellow gold in years other than my wedding band and engagement ring.

I feel so out of it.
I didn't even know there were gold trends.
My engagement ring is rose gold but I don't wear it that much.

Same here. Gold trends ? Wow , I do lead a sheltered life. I thought it was just a question of personal taste.

I personally have always hated yellow gold and love silver, white gold and platinum and even pewter . I always find yellow gold quite garish and a bit vulgar ( that's just my opinion so please don't hate me for saying that ).
I tend to like really discreet jewellery and I associate gold with "bling" ( a trend I truly loathe).

I laughed when I read the one about platinum being confused with aluminum. My H did that too. He thought platinum was the cheapest looking jewelry he'd ever seen.

Silly boy!
