I agree we need a picture. You may be making a mountain out of a molehill and it could be that they just make you self-conscious but I don't know unless I see them.

It makes very little difference to me. I can't see JUST big/funny ears making someone unattractive. If you're otherwise attractive, then it's just a quirk. I'd work on your self-confidence and make non-invasive improvements to your appearance first (ie. better dress/grooming, unless you have that down already).
John Krasinksi kind of has big ears that stick out a bit (and a big nose) and he's totally cute.
He will be able to tell you if your ears protrude or if they suit your face.
There is actually a few types of ear deformities which can cause people endless stress, I knew a child born with "cup ear" and they told the mum to get it fixed before he started kindergarten, to avoid bullying.
Well she knew better, didn't fix it, the kid begged her at age 7 after a lot of stress and damage to his self esteem so finally he got it done.
If it bothers you, do it....but first get advice. Don't fix something that's really only noticeable to you, as you may end up looking strange.
I would suggest that you leave it at that. That is you! there is no one in this world who will ever look exactly like you not even your children, aim at liking your self...you don't have to change your appearance unless if that's going to earn you a very good fortune.
My exes ears stuck out completely, you could see the sunlight through them. I found it cute. But I was thinking, if he would get them fixed and lean onto the head, he would go from cute to hot.
If you can afford to do this, and especially if it has bugged you for your lifetime, then I'd say go do it. I don't think it is a risky or difficult procedure.
But of course you want to consult with a doc first to make sure it is feasible.
If it does not bug you, and if it would be hard to pay for, then accept yourself and move on.
