I'm a dude so I'm not sure this is directed at me. I don't spend a lot for shoes. My most expensive pair is probably around $100. I like sneakers a lot better than shoes, and don't spend a lot on them in either case.
The more you stand on your feet for work...the more expensive shoes seem not so expensive. Hence the $175 New Balance shoes, the Nike Air Cole Hann at $150...on sale....the Dansko at $135....

Not in my case.......my work boots are almost $500.
Never over 500. Now I like to try to find things under 100$. I have zero need for high fashion shoes that will keep. So if I see something high end and cute I hunt for a knock off of the design. They tend to alter the rip off designs a bit to make them more toned down which I usually prefer.

Speaking of cole haan, I just picked up some suede pumps at the outlet for $150.

I've heard that Naot shoes were unbelievable comfortable, and they're up in that price range. But, since I'm not on my feet all day, I haven't quite made that leap...
The most expensive I've bought were probably a pair of Clarks from Zappos for around $110. I try to keep shoe purchases at $75 or under. It's really astounding that they even cost that much!
I never buy cheap shoes, I learned a long while ago that if you wear poorly fitting shoes you will end up with poorly feeling feet.
My most recent purchase is a pair of UGG Rohan boots which I found for $250 online after seeing them in a local store for $350. These will replace my ULU boots which were $190 9 years ago and haven't so much worn out but have started looking tatty especially as I use them for snowshoeing.
Probably my Cavallo riding boots which my Father bought for me when I was about 15. I think they cost about $800 made to measure which is pretty good, they lasted for years and we so, so comfortable.
I also had a couple of "Tods" which were so beautifully made they felt like slippers ,buttery soft leather and incredibly comfy and they always retained their shape. About $600 each probably.
A few Bally Shoes in the $500 range. I grew up wearing "Bally" shoes.
Now I have gone down in the world I do not really spend more than about $150/$200 a pair mostly from "French Sole" ( ballet shoes).Comfy, stylish( to me) and well made.
