DH wears Armani and Boss mainly.
I buy whatever fits. And I totally sympathize with UE. Because I am also 5'4.5 but I have a really short torso. 31" are ankle length or above on me, so if I am even thinking about wearing low heels, I need 33 inches.

In lots of brands, "regular" length is pretty short on me. Couple this with big quads and a more curvy figure and jean shopping is hard.

I try to read the entire thread; same here, Faded Glory Women's Basic Bootcut Jeans. I had been also paying about $12 a pair (and I have plenty of them) but while looking online right now I noticed they are now priced at $13.50. Still can't beat that price and they're comfotable and look great as well.

Also they come in short, medium, and tall...perfect, no alterations!

G-Star, RRL (Ralph Lauren), Kicking Mule Workshop, Naked & Famous, 45 RPM and Edwin. Most of these are raw selvedge, but I'm so over that trend right now. I haven't bought a new pair in nearly 2 yrs cause i'm a bit denim-ed out.

I don't really look at the brand, I just go to a department store and buy whatever tickles my fancy. I try to avoid brand only retail stores, due to the price. Also the customer service in those places is really overly personalized, and they hover over you while you selecting clothing. I like the big stores where you can buy your stuff in peace.

Armani jeans would need to be hemmed for nearly any height. Like you, I have very long legs for my height. Nonetheless, I hem all my jeans from there to heel length, and 2-3 inches on average still come off. I'm not sure you'd find them to exact fit; the point is to get them tailored to fit. They'll do it right in store .

I'm in the camp of whatever fits, doesn't have stupid designs, tears, "worn" looking areas, large logos, etc. and are reasonably priced.
