Just like anything else on your body, you buy the size to fit the larger and then pad/tailor to the smaller as necessary. Same is true with different sized breasts, big bust with a small waist, big thighs with small hips, big calves with small ankles etc.

Everyone has something about their body that makes dressing a challenge. It's best to accept this fact and then learn everything you can about how to cater to your body.

Hmm, I don't think I have an actual pair of shoes. There are multiple pairs of "slippers" (that's what we call thong sandals in Hawaii) and a pair of rubber boots for working in the mud and two whole pairs of Crocs. That's it for things to put on my feet and it's all good. When we vacation on the mainland, we go to a thrift shop and buy whatever we need for the vacation and then give it back afterwards so we don't have to pay to schlep luggage on airplanes so earlier this year I owned a pair of fancy dress up sandals for two weeks.

Oh, fuzzy house slippers? Do those count? I have two regular pairs of those and a bunny slipper pair, too. Whoohoo!

I hate shoe shopping. I am 5'11 and have size 9.5.

Can't wear high heels bec then people think I am a transvestite.
Can't wear flat shoes bec. if you are tall and wear too flat shoes, you look insecure about your height.
Can't wear pointed shoes because in my size they look huge.
Can only wear flip flops in the summer bec. my feet get cold quickly.
Old women's shoes have the right size heel (just a liiiitttle) but look ugly.

So, what's left other than sneakers? There is usually ONE pair of nice shoes with all the right credentials in the store and it is sold out in my size ...

Hate shoeshopping ...

I love shoes, but I hate shoe shopping. I wear an 11 in flats and sneakers, and some heels, and many brick & mortar stores still do not carry my size. And if they do, the shoes have already been picked over because my size always has low stock.

I agree. When will stores realize that women are wearing larger shoes? I can't even find shoes in my si, etc at stores. Amazon and Zappos are my go to for shoes.

Slippers? They don't call them "go-aheads" anymore?
