It's not anything to do with the care of the shirt, my husband has some of those and they're machine wash warm, dry on medium, and iron on the polyester setting (#2 on every iron I've ever owned). Some of the other Geoffery Beene shirts say "sateen" in the same place on the label, they have a shinier finish to the fabric.

I guess is like Nike Dry Fit:

The DRI-FIT fabric, polyester microfiber, absorb moisture and spread over a wide area to evaporate quickly. This elimination of perspiration is due to the action of two layers: the first is in contact with the skin, absorbs all the moisture and quickly transported to the second (outside) where it spreads and thus evaporates immediately. And that physical performance is enhanced, because the body stays dry.

But applied to Dress Clothes.

Cool and Dry refers to a fabric feature first developed by Geoffrey Beene. Wicks perspiration and therefore keeping you cool.
